Counterbalance needs to be adjusted when weight is added or removed from the
table. If you, as a user, anticipate the same items to remain on your table and
the weight on your table is not going to change often, then a removable
counterbalance can work for you. You can use the crank when needed. However, if
you need to adjust the counterbalance often then a mounted counterbalance might
be a better choice since it is always available for adjustments.
